Hyper Garden Campaign
The Hyper Garden helps reduce the pollution by removing harmful metals like zinc, cadmium, lead, and nitrate. Through phytoremediation, roots of cattails and the planting of sunflowers and lavender, help to absorb and extract these metals. Hyper Garden is built on the idea of emerging living materials to improve the ecology of the White River and its surrounding community. This critical design project proposes a floating garden on the White River as a place to gather and rebuild the built environment. Our project is a speculative design project that focuses on a way to use architecture to potentially clean the White River in the future. It is also a material BioDesign project that uses cattails and flowers along the river in an unusual way, as to filter the toxins in the water.
